Our family has two genetic disorders, Fabrys and Lynch syndrome. Fabrys reared its ugly head in 1984 when our son was diagnosed and all the family went through genetic testing. Lynch syndrome was dignosed when our older daugher died of stomach cancer after being misdiagnosed and treated from other things for five years. Our son was diagnosed with the same cancer two weeks before our daughter's death.
More genetic counselling.
I had given my six children nutritional supplements in their years growing up, in addition we have always used a water treatment system that removed chlorine and heavy metals etc, and found they rarely got sick. When our son was diagnosed with cancer, his oncologist said that he could use any nutritional supplement that he wanted, as much as he wanted as often as he wanted. He is now 17 years past the normal life expectency for Fabrys and is doing well after his Whipple procedure in 2005 and two other colon cancers plus numerous skin cancer removal.
I am appalled when I sit with chemo patients while I am getting my infusion for Fabrys and watch the amounts of sugar/junk food they are consuming.
