Patient-focused media group and advocacy network help those undergoing cancer treatments.
PLAINSBORO, N.J. (April 11, 2016) — CURE Media Group, the nation’s leading digital and print media enterprise focused on patients with cancer, and The Cancer Support Community (CSC) have teamed up in an effort to battle cancer. They have agreed to work together to publicize the CSC’s efforts to provide free and confidential one-on-one emotional support to cancer patients, their caregivers and family members through a global network of oncology mental health professionals.
The CSC is an international nonprofit advocacy organization providing support, education and hope to individuals affected by cancer. Based in Washington D.C, it is one of the largest employers of psychosocial oncology mental health professionals in the United States, offering a menu of personalized services and education for all those affected by cancer. Its global network brings the highest quality cancer support to the millions of individuals touched by cancer. These support services are available through a network of professionally led community-based centers, hospitals and community oncology practices, as well as online, so that no one has to face cancer alone.
“CURE Media Group, through its unique and award-winning digital and online offerings, has been a source of information and inspiration for cancer patients and families since 2002,” says Mike Hennessy Jr., president of CURE Media Group. “Our alignment with the Cancer Support Community will enable us to bring important information and resources CSC provides to patients on their cancer journey.”
