LLS has been awarded three digital health awards from National Health Awards.
LLS Community was named a recipient of two awards. Digital Health Awards honors the best digital health resources developed for consumers and health professionals and are an extension of the National Health Awards. LLS has been a recipient of both National Health Awards and Digital Health Awards in the past. LLS Community as a platform received a Bronze Digital Health Award in 2022 in the message/forum category.
LLS and LLS Community member, Steve Buechler, were recognized as 2023 Silver Digital Health Award recipients in the Article category for Steve's article, Language Matters: What Supporters Say is Not Always What People with Cancer Hear. LLS received recognition as a 2023 Digital Health Merit Award recipient in the Video category for Ask an Expert, COVID-19 (10.08.2021) https://youtu.be/lMo4jp-yqXI. This video series was launched with a set of videos focusing on COVID-19 featuring Dr. Larry Saltzman. Please note that Ask an Expert is an LLS Community based series and not publicly shared so we can encourage LLS Community participation and engagement. The children's book trilogy, “Stars Will Twinkle, The Sun Will Shine” (e-book version) was also recognized with a Merit Award in the book category. Through the Dare to Dream Project, we’re pioneering innovative research, safer, less toxic treatments, support services, and advocacy for kids with blood cancer.
