WWE’s Sid Vicious Dies of Cancer, ‘Baywatch’ Actress Gives Cancer Update and More

WWE legend, Sid Vicious, died of cancer.

Sid Eudy, known as Sid Vicious to wrestling fans, died of cancer at age 63. His son, Gunnar, posted on Facebook announcing his father’s death.

“I am deeply saddened to share that my father, Sid Eudy, has passed away after battling cancer for several years,” Gunnar wrote on Facebook. “He was a man of strength, kindness and love, and his presence will be greatly missed.”

Eudy’s cancer type was not disclosed.

A “Baywatch” star gave an update on her breast cancer treatment.

Nicole Eggert, a star on "Baywatch," opened up about her breast cancer and the waiting process.

Nicole Eggert, who is known for her role as Summer Quinn on “Baywatch,” said that she finished treatment and is in a “gray area” waiting for more imaging and potential surgery. The 52-year-old gave the update at the premiere of “After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun.”

“There’s a lot of waiting in this and it’s sort of something I didn’t really realize and nobody really talks about,” she said, according to Today. “But the gray area is the hardest because you don’t know what’s happening. When I’m doing treatment, I felt like I was doing something productive.”

Eggert, who also starred in “Charles in Charge” was diagnosed with stage 2 cribriform carcinoma — a rare, slow-growing type of breast cancer — in December 2023. Leading up to her diagnosis, she said she gained 25 pounds in three months and had “terrible pain” in her left breast, according to PEOPLE. At first, Eggert thought these were signs of menopause, but then felt a lump during a breast self-exam.

Netflix’s Rob "The Rabbit" Pitts died of stomach cancer.

Rob “The Rabbit” Pitts, a star on “Tex Mex Motors” on Netflix, died at age 45 of stomach cancer. Before his death, the reality star posted on his YouTube channel and addressed his fans for the last time.

“I started feeling 'off' after SEMA [a Las Vegas car show] last year and I was losing weight," he said in his text-based video. "But I was getting ready to film season 2 of ‘Tex Mex Motors’ for Netflix and wanted to be camera ready, so I didn't mind that so much."

He revealed that his castmate took him to the emergency room, which led to his diagnosis of stomach cancer in March of this year.

"Since then, I have been getting treatments at home and it's been rough. More bad days than good, but hanging in there. I have a lot to live for and life has been going my way," Pitts said in the video. "Don't be sad for me ... I accomplished my dream of buying my own store, finishing season 2 of Netflix and marrying the love of my life."

A Broadway actress starred in “The Great Gatsby” while going through cancer.

After being cast as Myrtle Wilson in the Broadway adaption of “The Great Gatsby,” actress Sara Chase received a diagnosis of cancer, she wrote in an essay published by Today. Wilson explained that she had previously learned that she had a BRCA mutation. As a result, she had her fallopian tubes removed 10 days before “The Great Gatsby” rehearsals began. Cancer was found in the removed in the fallopian tubes.

“Thankfully, it was caught early, but the standard of care was an immediate full hysterectomy, oophorectomy, and six rounds of chemotherapy every three weeks. I couldn’t believe what he was telling me. After I could compose myself, I nervously asked, ‘Can I still do ‘Gatsby’?’” Chase said.

Chase was able to schedule surgery on her days off and delay chemotherapy until after opening night. Initially, she kept her diagnosis a secret and later told her castmates what she was going through, and “relied heavily” on understudies while she took a leave of absence for treatments.

“I’m also comforted by the fact that soon I’ll be back on stage. And this time, I know I’ll be even stronger.”
