The Basics of Interventional Clinical Trials

An expert describes what an interventional clinical trial is.

William P. Harris, M.D., associate professor of Medical Oncology at the University of Washington Medical Center and associate member of the Clinical Research Division of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, explains the basics of clinical trials.

Harris mainly works in interventional clinical trials, which compare a new drug or treatment (such as surgery or radiation) to current standard of care to see which one produces better outcomes.
