I am a marketing professional who is very passionate about seeing the positive impact of the work I do on a day-to-day basis, as well as changing people’s lives for the better. I enjoy working with others and I believe in diverse thinking and teamwork. I am originally from Venezuela and for the last 19 years, I have been working in the pharmaceutical industry – the reason why I moved to the US with my wife, Suncire, and my children Valentina (12) and Alejandro (10) in 2014.

Outside of work, I spend most of my time with family and friends, enjoying outdoor activities. In 2017, I joined one of the ministries that support the Latino community at my church and during these last years, I’ve been actively working with this group to understand the needs of this community, supporting those who feel alone and also exploring ways to increase the number of parishioners.

I have been hiking with my family for the last four years and, together, we learned that close contact with nature creates the perfect opportunity to disconnect and reflect about life and what matters most.

The Sole 2 Soul for MPN™ trek represents an adventure and a new challenge for me. As I am preparing for it, I look forward to the opportunity to meet new people and learn from each of them, while being able to connect with myself and reflect about where I am today as an individual. This hike also represents an opportunity to give back and to speak up, saying, “I am here to support”. Once we are back, I am hoping that our experience at Waterton Lakes National Park will help many others understand the importance of listening to others, understanding their situation and supporting them in any way possible.

I am very pleased to represent Incyte at the Sole 2 Soul for MPN™ trek and to help raise awareness for myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPNs). Programs like this allow Incyte to use our resources to help improve the lives of individuals most impacted by the diseases in which we work.

Make a donation today and join us in supporting and uplifting those who are directly affected by MPN blood cancer.
