The MPN Family and the World Around Us
August 23, 2022
I now sit back and reflect on our journey for our Sole 2 Soul for MPN™ trek and adventure.
For me, personally, this has brought me great satisfaction in being part of a team that has brought this idea to life, making it a reality.
Creating a program that will continue on into the future, raising funds for research and awareness for this rare blood cancer. This has become an important part of who I am and what is important to me.
On our trek and journey, people with this same passion came together and have become more than friends. They have become family. By the mere reason of the sharing of the same illness or being a care partner or supporter. We all share the same hopes and dreams of living a full and productive life. We all shared the highs and lows of pushing ourselves in our trekking journey that mirror those highs and lows of our dailylives living with MPNs, either as a patient, caregiver or supporter.
For me this trek and journey was the start of reaching beyond our current state of where we are and extending ourselves and our own personal capabilities. It was also the opportunity to see the devotion, the perseverance and the passion we had for making a difference for those who have this blood cancer that they live with each and every day.
For me, this Sole 2 Soul for MPN™ trek has reaffirmed my passion for striving for better outcomes for the people who face this journey and that we can't give up to find better treatments and perhaps even a cure . For me, this is just the start of many more good things to come, many more people to call my MPN family and bring hope, inspiration, knowledge and education to the MPN family and the world around us.
