One patient and a physician expert discuss a variety of topics in prostate cancer.
CURE Media Group — which reaches over 1 million patients, survivors and caregivers across an industry-leading multimedia platform devoted solely to cancer updates and research — has unveiled a nine-episode discussion series featuring Andy Rochester, who shares his prostate cancer journey with Dr. Susan F. Slovin.
“We are thrilled to launch this video series,” said Michael J. Hennessy Jr., president of MJH Associates, Inc., parent company of CURE Media Group. “It is insightful to watch Rochester share his personal experience going through prostate cancer with Slovin and the audience.”
During the series, Slovin and Rochester discuss the multidisciplinary approach to diagnosing and managing prostate cancer, highlighting androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) and cardiovascular risk. The first episode explores Rochester’s diagnosis and the importance of having a multidisciplinary team when deciding on treatment. In the following episodes, Slovin and Rochester go beyond his personal experience with prostate cancer, offering advice for newly diagnosed prostate cancer patients and discussing cardiovascular risk management and multidisciplinary management in prostate cancer, complementary care and ADT.
In his advice to new patients entering treatment, Rochester says, “If they’re going to go into active treatment then, yes, I would like to discuss it with the other people, the other specialists, because in my case, it was very helpful. Because we used radiology. I didn’t start with radiology. We almost started with surgery.”
“CURE® Expert Connections” is a video platform designed specifically for patients with cancer featuring information, stories and advice about the cancer journey.
