The Facing the Mirror workshop is designed to support and guide you to comfortably apply makeup that can address the changes you’ve been going through. In this workshop, you will learn how to use makeup as a corrective tool – calmly and with confidence. Learn how to use makeup techniques so that you look like yourself – naturally. Ovitz will walk you through the items you need and the most effective techniques so you can do a fabulous job of applying makeup on your own.

Fear of Recurrence – Kathy LaTour
In this interactive session, we will discuss fear of recurrence and how to live when you have that fear by identifying the fears and being aware of what factors trigger fear. We will discuss coping mechanisms people have used successfully to live in a non-fearful way. We encourage you to share how you have dealt with this very serious and difficult aspect of the cancer journey.

Kill the Stickleback Fish in Your Relationship: Couple's Communication – Dan Shapiro, PhD
Cancer can interfere with couples in a bevy of ways. Survivor Dan Shapiro was 10 years beyond his diagnosis when his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. This practical breakout session is designed to provide useable strategies for improving couple’s communication. The sometimes funny, sometimes serious session can be attended alone (as a survivor or a spouse) or together. As part of the session, participants will privately identify strategies for addressing relationship issues.

Carole O’Toole will guide participants though the world of complementary cancer therapies by exploring the role and value of complementary modalities, and providing instruction in: researching and selecting the modalities most beneficial for you, finding an effective practitioner, and balancing conventional and complementary treatments. This presentation will also include a review of the more successful and popular complementary treatments used for cancer.
